    On 16 May 1850 Simeon bought 65 acres of land in Hastings (the eastern end of lot 10 in L'Hommedieus Location) from Edmund and Mary Ann Wetmore for $227. Soon after he subdivided that parcel and sold it for a tidy profit of $498.

    On 1 Jun 1850, Simeon sold 35 acres of lot 10 to Robert Orman for $575, and on 3 Jun 1850 he sold 30 acres of lot 10 to Edmund Phelps for $150.
