83 | Simmons' Tin Trunk This is the tin trunk described by Ruth Simmons Stebbins (see the Simmons Family of Westfield, Medina County, Ohio under histories). Originally the property of Jonathan Simmons Sr., it is now in the possession of descendants of Jonathan's son Erastus. It contains many documents including Jonathan Simmons' appointment as Captain in the New York State Militia in 1804, and deeds to land in Bristol, Ontario, New York and in Medina County, Ohio. |

84 | Simmons, Abigail Briggs -- Tea Set Abigail's tea set was undoubtedly inexpensive. Since Abigail was born in 1799, she probably acquired the set in the first quarter of the 1800s. The cups and pot are small by modern standards, but it is uncertain whether this is a full size set or a toy set, because at one time tea was very expensive and tea cups and pots were small. The set includes a 1.25-cup (300 ml) teapot, sugar bowl, six 2-ounce (60 ml) cups with saucers, six 5-inch (13 cm) dessert plates and a small bowl. |

93 | Simmons, Jonathan Jr, probably Lottie Lee Tanner Martin wrote on the back "I believe this picture is my g-grandfather JO Simmons." Unfortunately this statement is ambiguous, and I think she meant Jonathan Simmons, Jr., who was her great-grandfather. J.O. Simmons was her grandfather, who she knew. Thus, this picture is probably of Jonathan Simmons, Jr. It is certainly not a photo of Jonathan Oscar Simmons. | |||
