Tanner, Nathan (2nd)[1, 2]
1781 - 1856 (75 years)-
Name Tanner, Nathan - Nathan was the 2nd of a series of three succeeding generations of Nathan Tanners
Suffix (2nd) Birth 17 Apr 1781 New York [1, 2, 3] - No birth record for Nathan 2nd has yet been found, but the 1850 US Census says he was born in New York. G. C. Tanner's book gives his birthplace as Hopkinton, Rhode Island, but Nathan 2nd's father stated in his Revolutionary War pension application that he moved to New York where he was in the revolution (1777 - 1779) and afterwards lived there in various places including Stephentown, New York. In 1779 Nathan 2nd's father leased a farm in the East Manor of Rensselaerwyck which included Stephentown and Petersburgh (after it was formed from part of Stephentown). Given his father's movements and the farm lease, Nathan 2nd was probably born in what is now Petersburgh, New York. His son John was born there.
Gender Male Residence Abt 1803 Petersburgh, Rensselaer, New York, USA [4] Nathan's son John was born in Petersburgh between 1801 and 1803, and Nathan himself was probably born there or nearby. . Residence 7 Dec 1840 Oneonta, Otsego, New York, USA [5] Residence in Oneonta shown by an Oneida County deed in which Nathan 2nd of Oneonta bought land from his son Nathan. Death 10 Oct 1856 Burial Wheeler Cemetery, Otego, Otsego, New York Person ID I130 Martin-Bloom Last Modified 17 Jun 2021
