There are two unknown female children in the household. They may have been daughters who died. Also, possibly John G. was incorrectly tallied as a female.Land 1820 - 1821 Hastings, Oswego, New York [4, 5] 13 Dec 1820 Martin Keeler bought 5 acres of land from Nathaniel Vickery. [Deed recorded 8 Aug 1822]
6 Nov 1821 Martin sold this land to John Gridley. [Deed recorded 3 Feb 1832]- At the time of the sale, Martin's land was in the Town of Constantia but is now located in the Town of Hastings as proved by deeds registered later. Hastings was formed from Constantia in 1825.
The property description is ambiguous: "certain lot or parcel of land situate lying and being in the Town of Constantia aforesaid being a part of Ezra L Hommedieu's second location being part of lot no seven and bounded as follows beginning at the centre of the highway on the Town line running South easterly far enough to include five acres of land by running a west course to the Town line and from thence north to the place of beginning." Also, a later deed for this property (identified as having belonged to Martin Keeler) says that the town line was between Hastings and Schroeppel. However, according to the 1867 Atlas map (see document below) Lot 7 is not near the current town line between Hastings and Schroeppel.
Thanks to Cathy Kuhl, who originally located the deeds.

Family Northrop, Nancy, b. 8 Mar 1789, Connecticut d. 19 Feb 1847 (Age 57 years) Notes - I have listed John Gridley Keeler as a son of Martin and Nancy Keeler, but the evidence is circumstantial. He was the right age to have been Martin and Nancy's child, and he lived very near to Clark Phelps, Edmund D. Phelps, and Era D. Ladd, who had married his presumed sisters Laura Jane, Sarah Ann and Susan M. Keeler. All of Martin and Nancy's children lived near Martin's property in Hastings. John G.'s in-laws lived a few miles away across the Oneida River in Clay, Onondaga County. On 1 Jun 1850 John G. bought 1 acre of land from Elijah D. Phelps, the father-in-law of two of John's presumed sisters, but in the next year Elijah Phelps, his sons, Era Ladd and their families all left Hastings. Coincident with the departure of his presumed sisters, John G. sold his property and moved with his family to Clay near his in-laws. Finally, he appears to have been named after John Gridley, the prosperous tanner and leather goods dealer in the Town of Onondaga who bought Martin Keeler's property in 1821.

Notes - No definitive evidence has been discovered showing that this Martin Keeler was the son of David and Amy Keeler. Cathy Kuhl has accumulated circumstantial evidence consistent with this assignment, however.
- Phoenix wrote that Martin was "a wandering, unsteady man; lived, at one time, in Lysander, N.Y., and is thought to have had a family, but no account of it has been obtained." [7]
