    Esther Rider's house burned down, and the fire consumed the deed of sale in which her son Joseph Rider sold to Esther 25 acres of land and her house. Esther submitted a petition to the Governor and House of Representatives of Massachusetts Bay asking them to direct her daughter-in-law Elizabeth Rider Amidown, who was the administratrix of the estate of her deceased first husband Joseph, to issue a new deed to Esther. The directive was issued and Elizabeth with her new husband Roger Amidown, Jr. complied.
