Tanner, James Wilsie
1836 - 1921 (85 years)-
Name Tanner, James Wilsie Birth 2 Oct 1836 Oneonta, Otsego, New York, USA - James' obituary in the Little Falls Herald says that he was born in Freeport, Illinois, but this is undoubtedly incorrect, as every census record and his Civil War draft record give his birthplace as New York.
G.C. Tanner's book says that James was was born in Oneonta, New York in 1836 and that James' family moved to Freeport, Illinois in 1844. Oneonta is almost certainly James birthplace, as James father John and his family appear in the 1840 US Census of Oneonta. [1, 2]
