    The will of "Marie Hall of Ashford of the Countie of Kent widdow" was proved 19 Aug 1628. She gave to her servant Robert Hall x£. She gave to "Thomas Osborne the husband of my daughter Marie fifty pounds" and "to my grandchildren Thomas Osborne and Jeremie Osborne v£ a peece to be paid unto them at there several age[s] of one & twentie years". She made larger bequests to her children Sarah Goatley, John Goatley, Peter Goatley and Marie Osborne. She left five pounds annually to her mother-in-law Elizabeth Hall. John Goatley was executor. Overseers: Daniel Fusse and son-in-law Thomas Osborne. Witnesses Daniel Morcocke, Gabriel Belke, and Thomas March. The inventory of her estate included 18 acres of land, 300 wethers (castrated rams), a brew house, bake house, milk house, and store house. The lease of her house and land was valued at $250 pounds, 18 acres of barely at £35 and 14 acres of wheat and hemp at £37 10s.
