    • Earl and Zerviah may have become acquainted between 1795 and 1800 when Zerviah's family was living in Middleburgh, Schoharie County, New York and Earl's family was living in nearby Rensselaerville, Albany County. Maud Latham wrote that Earl and Zerviah were married in Claverack, Columbia, New York. I haven't found any evidence for this yet, and it's possible that Maud drew this conclusion from Walworth's Hyde Genealogy, because it appeared that Daniel Hyde and his family were living there at that time. It's plausible that Earl also went to Claverack, as he apparently did not go to Canada with his family in 1800. Zerviah's brother Elijah was reportedly born in Claverack in 1801, and Walworth wrote that they moved to Bainbridge in 1806. However, the Afton Enterprise article transcribed by Maud (see notes under Daniel Hyde) says that Daniel moved to Bainbridge in 1801. Therefore, it is possible that Earl and Zerviah were married there. [4]
