| Douw Levisee was named as husband of Catherine in the probate papers of Solomon Knapp. | Leversee, Dow (I2183)
| Dow's given names are uncertain. His son was named Douwe which may the the proper spelling of his first name. However, his name was Dow D. in the Hyde Genealogy, Dawe Ditmars in Maud Martin Latham's notes, Didimus in the 1851 Canada Census and Ditemus in the 1881 Canada Census. | Burns, Douwe (Dow) Didimus (Ditemus) (I57)
| Dundas Street is now known as Governors Road and Oxford County route 2. It divides Blenheim to the north from Burford to the south. | Martin, Samuel (I27)
| Earl and Zerviah may have become acquainted between 1795 and 1800 when Zerviah's family was living in Middleburgh, Schoharie County, New York and Earl's family was living in nearby Rensselaerville, Albany County. Zerviah's brother Elijah was reportedly born in Claverack in 1801, and Walworth wrote that Daniel and his family moved to Bainbridge in 1806. Note that the Afton Enterprise article (see notes under Daniel Hyde) says that Daniel moved to Bainbridge in 1801. But this seems unlikely given Zerviah's marriage in Claverack at the end of 1804. | Family: Martin, Earl / Hyde, Zerviah (F9)
| Earlier sources said that Stephen was born at Wortley, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, England and married first Constance Dudley. However, Johnson shows that Stephen was almost certainly from Hampshire, England, and states that there never has been any evidence that Stephen married Constance Dudley. | Hopkins, Stephen (I2497)
| Eben Knapp, an insolvent debtor, assigned his estate to Benjamin S. Knapp. Both died before the matter could be resolved. Benjamin S. Knapp also was named as owning property adjacent to that of Eben Knapp, whose property was to be sold in a sheriffs sale. | Knapp, Benjamin S. (I2068)
| Edgar was first a superintendent of schools in Dodge County, Minnesota. He then studied dentistry at the University of Minnesota. His daughter Ruth was born in their home on what is now the University campus in Minneapolis, while he was a student. He was called "Dad" by his fellow dentistry students, because he was so much older than they. | Wilson, Edgar Osiander [Oceander] DDS (I95)
| Edward's two daughters and one son received bequests in Edmund's will, but Edward himself did not. Thus, it appears that Edward was married and died before 1563. | Goatley, Edward (I2629)
| Edwin and his wife were killed when their car was struck by a train. | Simmons, Edwin Orestus (I747)
| Egbert Bennett named as her father in the 1880 US Census. | Bennett, Ellen W (I2351)
| Elijah also may have lived in Peterboro, New York at some time. Edmund's obituary says that "His youth was passed in the immediate vicinity of the house of Gerrett Smith, whom he greatly admired ..." Gerrit Smith, a social reformer and anti-slavery politician, lived in Peterboro, New York, where his estate is a National Historic Landmark. | Phelps, Elijah D. (I183)
| Elizabeth probably was the step-daughter of William Phillips rather than his biological daughter, as William's will clearly refers to "my daughter in law Elizabeth Walker and her son of the age of two years old and to her little daughter Hester Walker" and to "my son in law James Walker". Thus, Elizabeth's father was a previous husband of Elizabeth's mother. The "Memorial of the Walker's said that Elizabeth's mother was Elizabeth Parker, but I don't know the evidence for that. | Family: Phillips, William / ______ (F915)
| Elizabeth was described in Fiske and Fisk Family as "the daughter of a Baptist clergyman who lived in Cheshire, Mass. near a place once called Muddy Brook". That clergyman was doubtless Elder Timothy Greene. Part of Lanesborough was incorporated into Cheshire when the latter was formed. | Greene, Elizabeth (2nd) (I395)
| Elizabeth's birthplace is unknown, but it may have been New Britain, Albany, New York, as her family apparently was living there before her father bought land in Lanesborough, Massachusetts in 1773. Her birth date is taken from the family record given in the note below on this page. Elizabeth's birth date is given as 26 Mar 1771 in Fiske and Fisk Family. | Greene, Elizabeth (2nd) (I395)
| Emma immigrated to the US in 1897 with her father. | Martin, Emma Ellen (I1079)

| Erastus is in an unmarked grave at Friendsville Cemetery, but a memorial stone was placed next to his wife's headstone in the Old Westfield Cemetery (New Leroy Cemetery). Ruth Simmons Stebbins explained: "His remains were hoped to have been moved to LeRoy beside Eliza after her death, but a large locust tree had grown into grave [sic]. His monument is the tree but a granite marker is placed in LeRoy beside Eliza . . . " | Simmons, Erastus (I738)

| Esrom Knapp appears to have been recorded as Aaron Knapp in the 1860 US census. Esrom died May 5, 1890 at 52 years of age, which means he was born ca. 1838. This is the same age as the Aaron of the census. He is listed as Esren Knapp in the Wisconsin Death Index, and Esram Knapp in "American Civil War Soldiers" on Ancestry.com. At time of military service he was 27 years old, had brown eyes, brown hair, dark complexion, was 5 feet 8 1/4 inches tall, and by occupation a farmer. from: http://www.2manitowoc.com/ObitsKlu.html ESROM KNAPP cemetery #4 From Der Nord Westen, 08 May 1890: "News has come from Reedsville telling of the death of Ezrom Knapp who was a soldier in the War for the Preservation of the Union, was a member of the local G.A.R. and was recognized for his service by the flag being lowered to half-mast. 447 | Flora's birth year is most likely 1843. The date on her gravestone in Little Falls is 1843, but some family records say 1844. Flora is found at two locations in the 1860 US Census, and her age in them is ambiguous. First, she is 16 years old living in Rockland, Manitowoc, Wisconsin with her father, mother and siblings; second she is a 17 year old school teacher living with a family in Eaton, Manitowoc. This discrepancy may have resulted from confusion arising from Flora's birthday (July 7), the official date of the Census (June 1) and the dates the actual Censuses were taken (August). If Flora's birth year was 1843, she would have been 16 on June 1 and 17 in August. After Lycurgus died in North Dakota, Flora moved to Minneapolis where her daughter Maud was teaching school and lived there until she died. Flora's sister Selina belonged to the Methodist-Episcopal Church of Mayfield, Montgomery, New York. Her husband Lycurgus was listed as Church of England in the 1851 Canadian Census. Flora's brother Arthur D. Knapp was a Presbyterian (see his biosketch). | Knapp, Flora Frances (I22)
